Lee Ann Grossberg is a native born Houstonian. She
graduated from St. John's School in 1985 and went
on to attend the highly competitive Plan II Multidisciplinary
Honors Program at the University of Texas in Austin.
She received her B.A. in 1989 from Plan II with
additional minors in Art History and English. Dr.
Grossberg earned her medical degree in 1993 from
the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School
in Dallas. She then continued on to a residency
in pathology at the University of North Carolina
Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she
received five years of combined training in anatomic
and clinical pathology. Dr. Grossberg additionally
completed a sixth year of specialized training as
a fellow in forensic pathology at the Office of
the Chief Medical Examiner for the state of North
Carolina.
In 1999, upon completion of her extensive training
in the fields of anatomic, clinical, and forensic
pathology, Dr. Grossberg returned to Houston and
worked until 2001 as a medical examiner at the Harris
County Medical Examiner's Office in Houston, Texas.
In 2001, Dr. Grossberg founded her own forensic
pathology consulting firm in order to provide excellency
in expert witnessing and consultation to the legal
community for death related cases.
Dr. Grossberg has performed over a thousand autopsies
and has reviewed or participated in over a thousand
more throughout the course of her career. She has
ten years of court testimony and deposition experience.
She is board certified by the Board of American
Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology,
and Forensic Pathology. She accepts cases from both
the plaintiff and the defense and is willing to
travel to testify, if necessary.
Dr. Grossberg is described as bright, energetic,
and professional, as well as quite engaging. It
is evident during court testimony that she develops
an almost instantaneous rapport with jurors. She
is able to speak about difficult topics in a straightforward
and respectful manner and in a language that jurors
can grasp and understand.
Dr. Grossberg strives to uphold truth in all cases,
always holding herself to the highest of standards,
the proof of which is evident in the distinction
and quality of her work.
